Finding Hope in the Darkness
It's been four years since my son tragically ended his life. This experience has been incredibly painful, yet it has also taught me valuable lessons about resilience and hope. If you are reading this and you find yourself in the darkest times of your life, I want you to know that you are not alone. Life can feel overwhelmingly heavy, and the struggles may seem insurmountable, but there is always a way through the pain. Reach out for help, lean on your loved ones, and remember that healing is possible. You can make it through this. Your story is not over, and brighter days can lie ahead. Hold on to hope, and take it one day at a time. I never thought I would be writing this 4 years later, and 4 years feels like 1000 years when you're in the depths of despair, but each day I have found a little more hope and light in this darkness, it wasn't always this way, and the darkness won't always be that way. Stay present for yourself, give yourself grace and time, try to find even the littlest thoughts, sights, smells, sounds, memories that bring a little light into your day, it's there, it always has been there and it will always be there when you are ready to finally let it in again. Life will be different, but there is hope and light after the fight, be kind to yourself.
